UCL and the UK Centre for Moisture in Buildings has launched a new online course that explores the causes and risks of condensation, damp, and mould in homes, and how they can be identified, managed, and prevented.
The course is designed for local authorities and housing professionals and is based on training that was delivered to local authorities during 2023 and 2024 (including Wolverhampton, Thanet and East Suffolk). It is also available for property managers, surveyors, contractors, and anyone interested in healthier and safer homes.
The course looks at common causes of condensation, damp and mould and the impact of excess moisture on buildings and health. It will also investigate how ventilation, heating, occupancy and building design affect moisture. Highlighting current guidance, policy and good practice, the course offers practical approaches to diagnosing and reducing moisture problems.
